We had government representatives and/or their aid from the state-level offices, Senator Dan Brown, Representative Jason Chipman, and Representative Keith Fredrick, aswell as federal-level offices Congressman Jason Smith, with staff and Senator Claire McCaskill’s staff, visit us to congratulate us on our 5 year anniversary. Kaleidoscope Discovery Center’s (KDC) Volunteers in Service to America (VISTAs) displayed exhibits in the areas of Engineering, Science, Technology, Environment, Arts, and Mathematics (ESTEAM).
From the UM system we had the Chancellor of S&T, Dr. Chris Maples, Professor Dr. Delbert Day, and CFO of UM System, Ryan Rapp.
The fact that all these esteemed guests brought over their children and families showed their deep engagement with our community. The guests left with better understanding of KDCs vision and mission for our regions students.
Founder of KDC, Laura Antalok and Co-founder, Martina Baur, both gave moving speeches, with plenty of examples of how KDC has, and will continue to, enable and transform students’ lives by bringing in new educational, hands-on programs to our region. Dr. Jyoti Malhotra, board member of KDC, hosted this event.
Other current, and prospective, donors of KDC and government officials, who couldn’t attend the event are being invited for private tours, lead by Dr. Jyoti Malhotra.
There was also an open house the evening after our invite only event described above. At this later event, we were able to open KDC up to the public and show exhibits of what we offer. Regardless of if you missed the chance that day to see what we offer, we are still willing share with anyone about KDC’s vision. Stop by and check out our summer camps too, offered all summer long, focusing on the areas of ESTEAM, Engineering, Science, Technology, Environment, Arts, and Mathematics.
